Day 1: Flight to Antananarivo

Welcome to Madagascar, we hope you enjoyed your flight. You will rest at Maison Galliéni, a high-end accommodation in Antananarivo, where you will be transferred to and stay overnight.

Day 2: Antananarivo – Isalo


After breakfast, you will fly to Isalo for 2h30 and will land directly on the private airstrip of Jardin du Roy, a beautiful hotel located in the heart of the Massif. Just a short ride and you can get settled in your room. A full board accommodation will be offered for your stay at the hotel.
Take a stroll or a horse ride to the Oasis to have a plain overview of the massif, and enjoy a wonderful sunset on the rocks.

Day 3: Isalo National Park

Your discovery of the second biggest National Park of Madagascar will start early morning. The Isalo massif, Madagascar’s oldest geological formation dating from the 1st Jurassic era, is made up of ruiniform sandstone masses. Isalo’s animals, most of which are endemic species, are typical of the climate, the vegetation and the park’s geomorphology. 77 bird species are found at Isalo, among which the endemic and much protected Benson’s blackbird or Pseudocosyphus bensoni. There are also 14 species of diurnal and nocturnal lemurs, 8 of which have been introduced in Madagascar and 7 being endemic to the country. Reptiles, amphibians, carnivorous, insectivorous and rodents complete the list.
You will have spare time in the afternoon. You can enjoy our SPA where you have unrestricted access; choose a wellness experience at your convenience. You can also have another delightful moment doing the via ferrata, a hour and a half trip to the canyon summits.

Day 4: Isalo – Flight over the Tsingy of Bemaraha – Bekopaka

Your private plane will take you to the west where you are going to experience a rare and fascinating flight over the Tsingy of Bemaraha. Classified as World Heritage by the Unesco, these massive limestones and sharp karst structures have been forged by nature for centuries and shelter many animal species including lemurs as well as several species of rare plants.
Down to earth, enjoy a pleasant canoe stroll along the Manambolo gorge where you can discover its caves and know more about the Vazimba history.
You will stay on full board at Soleil des Tsingy.

Day 5: National Park of Bemaraha – Morondava – Baobab Alley

Early morning you will be taken to the Tsingy and enjoy a splendid hike to Andamozavaky, 17 km from the park entrance.
The trip is quite technical, combining many mini-climbings such as caves, monkey bridge, harnesses… Moderate to difficult, the 6 km hike lasts 5 to 6 hours. Bring a headlamp, good walking shoes and mineral water (at least 1.5L). Mazes, joint networks and impressive canyons will take you step by step to the top. You will also go through tunnels where you will sometimes need to get on all fours. Going through the suspension bridge and its lookouts will be a thrilling and tremendous experience where you will enjoy a splendid view across the park.

You will have lunch at Soleil des Tsingy and will fly to Morondava for about an hour in the afternoon. You will be taken to the famous Baobab avenue, the most photographed alley trees in the world, to admire those rare upside-down creatures. Enjoy an appetizer along the magnificent sunset… and come back to Morondava full of mazes. The hotel Palissandre Côte Ouest where you will stay overnight will serve you a succulent dinner to complete your day.

Day 6 : Morondava – Anjajavy ” Relais Chateaux “

You will fly northwards for a different sight and experience, first for 2h45 until Mahajanga where you will have a refueling stopover, to reach Anjajavy after another 50 minutes flight. Anjajavy hotel is a supremium Relais and Chateaux **** property in the west coast, northern of Mahajanga, laid along the Mozambique Channel in a rich and exceptional environment. During your stay, you will have the chance to discover the reserve with its lemurs and flora and visit local villages perfectly reflecting the diversity of Malagasy nature. You will enjoy the ultimate luxury, the isolation and a totally unspoilt nature while enjoying the finest hotel of the Red Island.

Days 6 to 8: Anjajavy Relais Chateaux

Discovering the reserve with its lemurs and flora, and visiting local villages which perfectly reflect the Malagasy people’s diversity will be much enriching for you. Indeed, enjoy the ultimate luxury and the isolation, in a totally unspoilt nature at the finest hotel of the Red Island. A full board accommodation will be offered for the 3 nights stay.
Apart from the sea and the nature, the place has also many free activities to offer. Water sports: Catamaran sail (accompanied), sea or mangrove Kayaking, Windsurfing or just Snorkeling. You can also swim in the Pool or play Beach volley, Petanque or Badminton. Or go for walks and visit the local villages (a 10€ per person donation to EDM NGO would be much appreciated), have some excursions and strolls in the forest (with or without guide), visit caves, watch birds or enjoy a night walk.

Day 9: Anjajavy – Antananarivo

After the beautiful stay at Anjajavy, you will fly back to Antananarivo and will be brought to the heights of the town where you will be able to appreciate a fantastic panorama of the City of a Thousand.
After lunch, enjoy a short escapade across the oldest streets of the capital. Your guide will tell you the marvels of each area. Begin with the High City to discover the “Rova”, the Queen’s Palace, then Andohalo the historic Mecca sheltering a multitude of civil and religious buildings as well as the famous “Square of Andohalo”. Continuing downwards via Faravohitra where history lovers will be seduced by the brick-built traditional houses architecture.
We hope you will enjoy that last ride before leaving Madagascar and will keep very good memories of your journey across the Big Island. We then say “Mandra-pihaona” which means “See you again!” as you take your flight at the airport.
