What I Love In Madagascar

mora mora spirit madagascarIt is a country of “large spaces” where I feel free, far from the constraints of the so-called developed countries but which are often “deadlocked”.
It is a country that works “mora mora”, that is smoothly, slowly, sometimes it is irritating but it has something good, we all need to slow down in view of the pace of life becoming too hectic.

Madagascar is a eulogy to time passing quietly; It is a real luxury!

malagasy people ethnie madagascarPeople are completely different from the north to the south, from the east to the west; they are smiling, that is not a snapshot, they are all welcoming, it is felt every day they are friendly and I love them like that, they have kept a strong identity and always respect their customs and their traditions bringing about an improved well-being, we belong to societies that are losing their points of reference.

It is a beautiful country: each time I travel to the province, I am always filled with wonder.
I love the arid canyons of Makay, the shimmering rice fields of the highlands, the rough and savage aspect of the massifs of the Ankarana and Bemaraha Tsingy.
The bush of the great south of Madagascar.
lemur, bird, baobab, beach, landscape, madagascarI love the exquisite aerobatics of those funny and sometimes strange Lemurs, the stately jump of the hump-back whales in the water of Sainte-Marie, the quiet wandering of the Chameleons, the dawn chorus of the birds in the heart of the rainforest, those huge Baobabs dashing towards the skies; everywhere, nature is present.
I love the sea surrounding us : more than 5,000 km of coasts, the splendor of the emerald sea along the shores of the Mozambic Canal and the Indian Ocean, I will never grow tired of the sight of the outrigger canoes or the dhows slicing through the meerschaum.

kayaking, masoala, madagascar, trek, cruiseI love the long journeys by 4WD on the laterite tracks the harmonious swinging/swaying of my canoe squeezing through the mangrove swamp or going down the Manambolo, the Tsiribihina rivers or the Pangalanes Canal.
I love going climbing on the Montagne des Français near Diego, backpacking in the Andringitra massif.
Riding a quad to discover the amazing panorama at the height of Sainte Marie island, holding the rod of a sailing boat in the Radama archipelago and bivouacing in the evening on desert beaches, I would like to defy one day the Varatraza in kite surf.

I also love all these small places discovered over the years.
friendly lodges madagascar, luxury travelBeautiful, charming and friendly lodges: I love the lively atmosphere of the house of Marosava be, this bush luxury hotel, I like the exceptional site of Iharana Bush Camp, I like relaxing at Princesse Bora Lodge, I adore sleeping on the trees at Jungle camp, I have always had a weakness for Nosy-Komba or Ranobe lagoon, indeed, I cannot cite here all the places where I feel good…
There are tens of them; I love them because I feel at home surrounded by kindness, delicacy… oh, those parties where we change the world, centered around rhum arrangé (rearranged rum)!
Finally, I love this country’s light: the weather is fine almost all year long;
The sun floods our days and at night, the heavens light the traveler’s dreams. It is probably this light that irradiates the Malagasy people’s smiles every day.
It has been 22 years that with my team, we have travelled all over the country to devise nice trips for you.
It is also our passion and we would like to share it.
